At One World Global Health, medical missions are our mission. Each participating physician has made a commitment to providing high quality medical care, at no cost, to underserved patients in developing parts of the world. Without such trips, these patients would suffer an unhealthy delay or complete lack of access to treatment. Each mission trip is an enormous undertaking, requiring the teams to prepare for months in advance, and bear the expense of transporting necessary medical and surgical supplies and personnel to each location.
To maximize our impact, we develop long-standing partnerships with local healthcare facilities, organizations, and providers in each location that we serve. We are also fortunate to work in collaboration with other charities, such as local chapters of The Lions Club International, and dedicated organizations such as Mobile Medical Mission Hospital.
One of our unique challenges is finding adequate space for all components of patient care, including waiting areas, triage, consultation, treatment, surgeries, and follow up. In Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, we hope to purchase dedicated space for our team and many other nonprofit medical mission teams to use for this important work.
